How skill impact currency?
In this new era, skill is the currency of the future of work. Technology is transforming the workplace and fundamentally changing the way companies around the world are hiring talent-specific individuals. Technical skills – are quickly becoming the new professional currency, a benchmark by which managers and human resource leaders are assessing candidates.
Employers are evaluating candidates first and foremost based on their skills rather than on their previous job titles or formal degrees. The most sought-after candidates have technology skills combined with people skills (soft skills), a blend that translates into success in today’s rapidly changing workforce. All workers will need to have basic technology skills, as there will be jobs that require at least some interaction with technology. People with high-tech skills will continue to dominate in critical roles.
Technology today is ubiquitous and emerges as the apparent hero in every story. But the fact is, investing in people is just as important as investing in technology. It is knowledgeable and skilled ones that promote businesses with a competitive advantage.
Today’s youth have a burning desire to gain knowledge and are time-poor. They want to tap the learning and information whenever they need it, not based on a published class schedule. They are demanding the freedom to consume the knowledge when and where they want and how they want, from a wide range of content resources, tailored to their learning needs, preferences, and interests.
